@erpster96 & @crowler

Firstly, thanks to both of you for replying.

I've read all of the comments/replies of yours, so I guess, UDA driver will, neither much beneficial for my relatively old DH67BL board, nor compatible, so as you suggested, for now, I'd better be off from UDA & continue using the regular HDA drivers I think.

you're @erpster96 you're saying UDA 8591 would be compatible with my DH67BL, where @crowler in next message saying it's 8581 UDA, so I am just want to try for once, which one should I consider?

And lastly, so far, by the generic driver, I have been using that FF00, what I know is FF0C is best suited for those who are using Intel smart sound technology (SST) based Realtek audio devices & in that case, the hardware ID begins with "INTELAUDIO" instead of "HDAUDIO", but as you can see in my earlier post where I mentioned my H/W IDs as well, its not "INTELAUDIO", it's 'HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_80862002&REV_1003 so I think FF0C will not compatible, even if it's compatible, then there 'd be nothing new or different from the generic FF00'

ah you finally responded, SM-003! :cheer:

well your Intel DH67BL motherboard was manufactured in either late 2010 or early 2011 (yup, that's a very old board), several years before Intel smart sound technology [SST] came out.

so crowler was wrong to suggest the Intel_10EC11CC_8581_UAD_WHQL_2018_1204.zip driver and FF0C driver because these two drivers may not work for your board.

you can forget about using 8591 UAD now as alanfox2000 and I have recently mentioned the "generic" 8614 UAD driver (Universal_Audio_Driver_8614_NEC_TEST.zip) or the "repacked" version of 8614 UAD because 8614 UAD includes the HDXRT.inf and HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf files that will allow installation on any Realtek audio device. UAD "generic" drivers like 8591 and 8614 are sometimes produced when many times new UAD drivers are OEM specific or HWID specific.

Note for ASRock users: ASRock has recently released the v6.0.1.8619 FF00 HDA driver on their web site .

Yes, I may be late to reply, but never fail, busy life, you know

Thanks again for all the info, but the real question is, is it worth downgrading (in terms of driver date & version) just for the sake of UDA? Will there be any diff in audio quality? Orelse, I think am better off with the regular FF00 generic latest HDA drivers. What'd you say?

Hi, I have a Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard. Before installing the Realtek driver, it works as a 5 + 1 rear speaker in the Windows volume setting. After installation of the Realtek Driver, the rear speaker considers it to be side-by-side and does not sound naturally. To overcome this situation, what should I do if I choose 7 + 1 and close it with a side speaker?

maybe ask in ASUS ROG forums and wait for a response there.
